Well when I went to the pump class, where the four major pump companies (Animas, Minimed, Omnipod, and Cozmo) tell you about their pump and you choose your pump, I had aleady narrowed it down between Minimed and Animas. When the pump reps were explaining about their pumps, it seemed like the Minimed reps were basically trying to show how their pump was the best, how it was so much better than any other pump, rather than just telling us about it, which is what Animas did. I'm not trying to badmouth minimed in any way, just telling my experience with them. Animas just seemed more helpful to customers in my opinion, and it didn't hurt that the pumps come in cool colors lol. Also, another thing that convinced me to get Animas, was when I tried on the Animas and Minimed infusion sets, I had a skin reaction the Minimed one, and I didn't want to deal with that, so that's why we went with Animas.
Yesterday i went for my check up at Joslin... and I found out from one of the doctors...that there are many many pumpers on the minimed pump who are HAVING PROBLEMS..."AIR IN THE TUBING... i have been telling minimed about this and they will not listen.. finally...i am not the one pumper who is having this problem ... and the infusion set always hurts... so yesterday i started trying the animas pump.... no air in the tubbing yet.....i think that there is a defect in the minimed res.. and no one from minimed wants to listen... so after 6 years on the minimed pump... i have gone over to animas....
