My relationship to diabetes is...: I have a Grandmother with Diabetes, I have a friend with Diabetes

Tell your story as to why you want to become a Diabetic Angel or start your own chapter of the Diabetic Angels and maybe your story will be featured!: My name is Grant and I am part of the Cyclebetes team putting together events across Canada, United States, and Australia to raise awareness for Juvenile Diabetes and funds for the JDRF.

In the legacy of Team H2V, a five man team the cycled across Canada in 8 days and raised $800,000 for the JDRF in 2007, we are organizing what will become the biggest bike relay in the world!

The relay will go across Canada and was originally comprised of one five person team per province, and then we took it one step further. We have it set-up now so that the bike relay will run tandem with an adult rider in the front and a type 1 teen in the back - working together.

In addition to our cross country relay, we are also orgainizing Secondary Spin-a-thons:

We have big goals this year as we work towards raising $2 million dollars for the JDRF and well as promoting health and fitness in youth.
