Also, maybe you could Blog about the difficulties diabetic children have in school (we'd love to feature that Blog (I remember all too well some of the issues Mollie dealt with)! Anyway, checkout the groups or forums, or start your own group or forum! On a separate topic, I was raised in the Chicago land area, the Near Northside and then Libertyville to be exact!

I am an Illinois ertified School Nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner in Schaumburg, Illinois. My son Patrick, 15, was newly diagnosed Type 1 in November '08 as an incidental finding during a hospitalization for bacterial pneumonia. He just started pumping last week with an Amimas One Touch Ping. Currently a school nurse, I provide direct nursing care at school to 4 children with Type 1 Diaetes, ranging in age from second grade to fourth grade. Curently, two of them are on pumps.
