My relationship to diabetes is...: I have a niece with Diabetes

Tell your story as to why you want to become a Diabetic Angel or start your own chapter of the Diabetic Angels and maybe your story will be featured!: I want to become a Diabetic Angel because I have seen in our family the need for so many to be aware of the signs of highs and low blood sugars in order to support both my niece as well as her immediate family...it's a family disease!

Alli just signed up to be a Diabetic Angel. Such a great idea. She's been walking around the house with the Diabetic Angels card singing "if we were big and rich...everyday would be a fun day etc". She asked if we could write Mollie and Jackie a note before bed. We FINALLY did! --just a quick note...Alli just told me a few things she wanted me to type to them. It was pretty cute...I left out the following: "I look just like you- except your hair is curlier; I want to play the guitar with you someday--I just decided that I am going to need to take lessons so we can have a play date and play the guitar; why are you singing about being rich???--people will like you just the way you are..."mom, do they mean that they want to get rich to raise money for the researchers to find a cure"....etc! It was SO funny--I wish I had recorded it all!!!
