- I am a teacher. I have many students who pass through my doors each day who have type 1 diabetes that affects their academic performance. You can test a student or teach a student if their BS is 35 nor 400. The educatioal system does not want to acknowledge that these students have issues with Blood sugars that cause them not to be able to concentrate in school. I want to teach students that have type 1 &2 diabetes and educate not only my colleagues but the world. Treating a
diabetic person like others does not mean igmnoring the disease, it means accepting the fact of the disease and adjusting life and learning to the situation so the person with diabetes can be everything the good Lord wants them to be.
