I became diabetic April 1st 2008 it has been a tough road to where i am today i have learned to take better care of myself i want people to understand diabetes and realize how big the problem is people should feel comfortable. The realization of taking shots everyday doesnt hit you util your faced with the option. For me it was life or death. i ended up with a glucose level of 700 and was hospitalized for a week. There was a lot of emotions and misunderstanding especially for my mom. We will go shopping and i will get hypoglycemic and she starts to cry.i wish she wouldn't worry so much and im sure other parents experience the same feelings It was very hard to adjust to i just want to help others. i feel better than i ever have before in my entire life now that i have inslulin. i have very supportive friends and its nice to have support.
